By buying an artwork through this website you agree to these terms. Please read them before you pay.
1. Who you are buying from
Artworks are sold by the Barrenjoey High School P&C Association ("the P&C", "we", "us"), a non-profit parents and citizens association, as part of the Barrenjoey Artwalk.
We sell the artwork on behalf of the artist. 70% of the sale price goes to the artist and 30% supports Barrenjoey High School through the P&C. Your payment is made to the P&C, and we pay the artist their share afterwards.
2. The artworks
Every artwork in the Artwalk is an original, one-of-a-kind work. There is only one of each. Once a work is sold it cannot be reordered or replaced.
Artworks are made by hand. Colours on your screen may differ from the work itself, and small variations in texture, finish and framing are normal and are not faults.
Dimensions and medium shown on the website are supplied by the artist and are approximate.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are in Australian dollars and are the full price of the artwork. Prices include GST.
Payment is taken online through Stripe. We do not see or store your card or bank details.
Your purchase is confirmed when payment is confirmed, not when you finish the checkout page. Most payments confirm immediately. Some methods — bank payments in particular — can take a minute or longer. Until payment is confirmed, the artwork is held for you but is not yet sold. We will email you once it is confirmed.
If payment is not completed, the hold lapses and the artwork returns to sale.
4. Artworks stay on display until the exhibition ends
The Artwalk runs from 7 – 22 November 2026. Artworks stay on display in their host shop windows for the whole exhibition, including works that have already been sold.
This means you cannot collect your artwork until the exhibition finishes. When you buy, you are buying the work and reserving it; you take it home afterwards.
5. Getting your artwork
When you buy, you choose one of two options.
Collect it yourself. After the exhibition we will contact you to arrange when and where to collect it, and what to bring.
Arrange your own delivery. If you would rather have the work delivered, you arrange and pay for that yourself, directly with a courier or art transport company of your choosing. We do not post or deliver artworks and we do not arrange couriers. We will make the work available for your courier to collect, at the same time and place as a personal collection.
We will contact you to arrange either option. Please collect your artwork within 14 days of the exhibition ending. If you cannot, contact us and we will do our best to help — we are volunteers, and storage is limited.
6. When the artwork becomes yours
Ownership of the artwork passes to you when we receive payment in full.
Risk — responsibility for loss or damage — passes to you when you (or your courier) collect it. While the artwork is on display during the exhibition, it remains our responsibility.
7. Refunds and your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. If an artwork has a major problem — it is significantly different from its description, or is unsafe, or is damaged in a way you would not have accepted had you known — you are entitled to a refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. For a minor problem, we will put it right.
Because every artwork is original and unique, we cannot offer refunds or exchanges simply because you have changed your mind, or because a work does not suit your space or colour scheme. Please look carefully at the work — in person, if you can — before you buy.
If we cannot supply an artwork you have paid for — for example if it is damaged or destroyed before collection — we will refund you in full.
Refunds are made to the payment method you used. Depending on the method, they can take several days to appear.
To raise a problem, email [email protected] with your name and order details.
8. If something goes wrong with your order
Occasionally an artwork may sell in person at the same moment as it sells online. If that happens and we cannot supply the work, we will tell you and refund you in full, promptly. We are sorry in advance if this affects you — it is a small event run by volunteers, and we would rather explain it honestly than pretend it cannot happen.
9. Your information
To complete your purchase we collect your name, email address and phone number. We use them only to confirm your order, arrange collection, and contact you if there is a problem.
To stop automated abuse — a script reserving every artwork at once so nothing appears available to real buyers — our system also stores a scrambled one-way code derived from your internet connection, and counts how many recent orders came from the same code. Your IP address itself is never stored, and the code cannot be turned back into it.
We do not collect or store your postal address, and we do not see your payment details — Stripe handles payment and holds that information under its own privacy terms.
We keep your details — and the anti-abuse code described above — for 24 months after your purchase, or after an incomplete order lapses, for our records and for the P&C's financial reporting, and then delete them. We do not sell your information or use it for marketing.
10. Copyright
Buying an artwork gives you the physical work. It does not transfer copyright, which stays with the artist. You may display the work and photograph it for your own personal use. You may not reproduce it commercially, make prints of it, or use it for advertising without the artist's written permission.
11. Contacting us
We are volunteers and generally reply within a few days.
