About This Work
These paintings of unremarkable household vessels continue my exploration of colour, shape and composition. With this series, I have aimed to create joyful works with a strong design element. I have my favourite subjects, and am often drawn to paint a particular grouping a number of times, altering one element and observing the effect. Teapots, stools and cups provide recurring subjects for me to play with in paint. I hope viewers will find something that strikes a personal chord, and that they will find pleasure in the moment of recognition.
