Eva Frengstad

I am a Norwegian-born, Avalon-based artist working intuitively with colour, texture and mark-making. My practice is inspired by the ocean, nature, music, meditation and mindfulness, as well as words, lyrics, poetry and quotes that evoke something within me. I paint from feeling rather than a fixed idea, allowing each work to unfold through layers, movement and instinct. I am drawn to the space between chaos and calm, control and surrender, and to translating emotions that are sometimes beyond words into something visual. My work is ultimately about connection: to ourselves, to nature, to one another and to the present moment. I paint what I feel, what moves me, and what I cannot always put into words.
